The author of this sensitive tale ... weaves together the stories of different individuals whose lives intersect at various points. Each character breathes a life of their own and I found myself drawn into their lives as Val teases out their humanity. A well-crafted book which leaves you with a sense of compassion and hope that all is not lost even when it may appear to be.
